Helpful questions on giving

On sunday night Jeremy took us through some really helpful thoughts on how we should view giving, and showed us from Matthew 6:19-24 and 1 Timothy 6:17-19 why we love money even though we shouldn’t and why its a really good idea to give money away.

To help us think about how we view money Jeremy gave us a ’spiritual checklist’. These questions are definately things we should keep asking ourselves because the do a good job at exposing our heart towards giving.

A spiritual checklist:

1. When someone writes to you asking for money, are you annoyed or excited?

2. Are yo more likely to think of reasons to give money to someone or something, or to think of reasons not to?

3. How often do you look at your bank statement online?

4. Do you sleep less well if you are short of money?

5. How much would you say you get genuine joy from giving money away?

6. What would you prefer: to be debt free when you’re 50, or to be 5% more godly when you’re 50?

I hope you find these helpful and that you can make time to really think about your answers.

ps. special prize if anyone can tell me who the photo’s of and the link to this post. - it’s not too difficult.
